BPA or bisphenol A is a synthetic hormone found in a number of plastics and epoxies.  Commonly found in baby bottles and food containers, there is a recent groundswell against it's use among many retailers and even manufactures.  While the FDA orginally approved BPA as safe for use in food and drink containers in the 1950's recent research indicates BPA may be linked to diabetes, cancer and other illnesses and new studies indicate that BPA has been found in 93 percent of Americans tested with the highest levels found in the youngest children.
While the FDA ruled just last summer that BPA is safe, it did so ignoring the advice from it's scientific advisory board that suggested the FDA rely on more than two studies which had been financed b y the chemical industry.
The FDA may not be concerned about BPA but the scientific community is and so are we at Fun Kids Cups.  All of our kids cups, restaurant cups and souvenir cups are BPA free and always have been.  With BPA apparently more harmful to children, it's only responsible to offer safer kids cups.
